Principal's Message

Bayville School enrolls approximately 400 students from preschool to fourth grade providing instruction in mathematics, language arts literacy, science, and social studies. Our school offers full day and half day preschool and full day kindergarten as a means to institute foundational educational and social skills that will propel the students throughout their school years.
Established in 1927, Bayville School was the original school in the Berkeley Township School District.  Though the school itself has had additions and renovations, the main objective has remained constant: provide academic and social leadership to create life-long learners in a safe and caring environment.

Bayville School offers Basic Skills instruction, ALPS, and English as a Second Language to ensure we meet the needs of every child. Our guidance counselor and Child Study Team are also available to work in coordination with the regular and special education teachers.

Our students and staff have a multitude of technology at their disposal. Along with three computer labs, Bayville School will implement a 1:1 initiative this year in grades two through four. These students will have their own personal Chromebook to be used in the classroom. There is also an additional first grade Chromebook cart and kindergarten iPad cart that can be utilized throughout the school year. Each classroom has surround sound, Apple TV, a document reader, and an LCD projector.
Although education is our passion, school security remains a top priority.  There are cameras located inside and outside of the school and on every bus in the district. All school visitors will be required to sign in and wear an identifiable badge upon entrance into the building. We also practice our school security drills with the staff and students twice a month to ensure correct procedures are followed in the event of an emergency.
The Bayville School PTA works diligently to enhance educational programs and provide memorable experiences for the students. It is through their tireless work that we are able to offer all the "give backs" throughout the school year. As always, we encourage parents to become involved in the PTA to make the school and community even better.

Having a positive and open home-school communication is imperative in the educational process. Parents are encouraged to communicate with teachers daily utilizing student planners, email addresses, or voicemail extensions. Teacher information, as well as news, calendar events, and other important information can be found on the school's website.

Bayville School strives to encourage each student to reach his or her potential, become productive citizens, and life-long learners. I look forward to meeting and working with you in our quest to achieve these goals. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. My door is always open.
